COME AND SIT NEXT TO ME

This one goes to CRAIG ALUN SMITH a Canadian Designer.


Presented by some people as Canada's most successful designer. Known for his work in international to design manufacturers including Alessi and Herman Miller. Now he is the top director of product design for cocoon branding. His work has been featured in numerous national and international publications including Wallpaper (named in the top ten young designers worldwide), Surface (Best 100 young designers worldwide), The Globe and Mail (Top young Canadians shaping the future), Wall Street Journal and Playboy among others.



The name of this product or chair, or chairs, is "WANK". Which is a metaphor of the situation of the 3rd and 1st world. The white chair in some way could be interpreted by IRAK and the darkest could be USA. (Notice how the white one doesn’t have a leg).






The light one is made of Sugar Maple and the darker on is made of Brazilian hardwood.









In some way WANK is some sort of satirical critic to the current state of designers and design in general of how the industry trend to create stupid and helpless design objects and presenting them as art.... is everyone does it, Craig did it too.
