Painting the Facade

This is the work of Friedrich Forster and Sabine Weibinger. They made large scale urban interventions in buildings. Painting facades with lights changing them completely giving them a complete new meaning.

They've been doing this for a while and they have had quite a lot of interventions in many places including the light festivals of Frankfurt and Lyon.

We all know the cliché of fixing a facade with light but for sure no one can do it like them.

This intervention is named Muserhouse

This other one is Klang Lichtraum Bebenhausen

This one is Transformator

People say graffiti is ugly, irresponsible and childish... but that's only if it's done properly.

This one was a suggested by my friend Eloi.

So Banksy is the name of this artist. Or better said the peseudo-anonyomous of this British graffiti artist. No one really knows who he is or where he is specifically from but is believed that he is from Yale, South Gloucestershire, near Bristol. And have been born in 1974. There are a bunch of speculations about the personal history of this character.

People describe it as a caucasic, male who wears the typical graffiti clothes (jeans and a t-shirt) who is somewhere between 28 and 35 years old. Simon Hattenston of Guardian Unlimited has been one of the few persons who have met him.

His work is a satirical critic about politics, pop culture, moral (or the lack of it) and about social groups. In his work we can see the combination of writing and stenciling that was hype on the late 70s and early 80s

His first work appeared in 1992 and 1994 in his hometown Bristol, in the year 2000 he went to London and after that he pretty much has been all over the world. Especially in places like New York, Los angeles, Florida, Belem, Ramallah and Abu dis.

He has publish some books about his work including the graphical work in different cities, his work in canvas and some writings he has done.

He has also been known for sneaking into museums and hung on wall pictures of his work, not only one or two times. He has done it in places like The Tate modern gallery of London, The MOMA at NY, the Brooklyn museum, The Natural history museum of NY, The British museum in London and into the Louvre in Paris. Luckily he has never had mayor problems with that.
